My adsense ads wont appear on my website?

I understand HTML I am not new to this subject. I copied and pasted the ad code on my source code of websites. I save and then open it. I see that my site and no advertising. Should I put online for it to appear? When I open it, I am saving as. Html, and its opening. Does the work after it FTP'ed ????? Thank you

Yes, you have to put it online, it will show that to do so well after placing ads and making the units, but I bet they show just empty space, it is a new tactic by Google, to stop the demolition of page impressions.
