What is the best way to defeat the tax W9 witholdings when you have 2 jobs?
I am employed full time and also a secondary activity where I had to file a W9 and now get 28% taken automatically (Google AdSense). When tax time happens, is there a way to not simply have a "combined" income for my two jobs? Can I open an IRA and contribute my W9 retained only way to get more money or the money will always be considered cumulitive for tax purposes. I guess I'm wondering is if there no way reduce taxes.
I great way to lower your taxable income is to learn about tax credits and deductions you are allowed to take. At first this last year was the last year for credit information (The Gov. u paid $ 150 for opening an IRA or have a 401k. Thus, the savings credit is out of question now. If you are a student or if u take classes, your tuition may be deductible. Depending on your job, your work expenses related can be deducted. Medical expenses, taxes on cars, mortgage interest, charitable donations, work related cell phone charges, work related travel expenses are all tax deductions possible.
