AdSense Help installing in wordpress?

My friend asked me to help settle everything hes off adsense the country to visit his grandparents. I have no idea really what the hell I'm doing, but I accepted because I offered something that I really want. Adsense is down for the moment so I decided to take the time to see if any of you could help me. Seriously I'm going to need a "How to install adsense in Wordpress for Dummies" guide.

There are different ways to do that you use may depend on which version of WP you are using and if your theme is widget ready or not. If you are using WP 2.3 and the theme you are using is widget-ready, easiet how AdSense is to put the AdSense code in a text widget. To do this: 1. Get the AdSense code (go to Adsense, choose Settings AdSense ad configure how you want and copy the code at the end). 2. In Wordpress, go to Presentation -> Widgets and drag text widget in the sidebar. 3. Click on the icon type list on the right side of the widget and paste the AdSense code in the box. Four. Click on "Save Changes "and you're done. If you do not use WP 2.3, you'll need to get the sidebar widget plugin from http://automattic.com/code/widgets/ be able to do so. If you use a theme that does not widgets you can manually add the AdSense code in any of the theme editor. To do this go into Wordpress -> Presentation -> Theme Editor and then select where you want to announce the list on the right side. For example, if you want a block of ads along the top of the page, you need to paste the AdSense code in header.php (Thematic presentation editor / / Header) somewhere near the end, but before the last two

tags. If you want a block in the sidebar, place the code in sidebar.php, etc. At this stage, it is a trial and error to get the right positioning.
