GWT 2.0 is a platform for application development consists of a class library Java, AJAX-style UI components (widgets), an RPC-based application or a communication framework for response and integrated debugging environment.

Its objective is to promote the efficient development of high-performance web applications developer shall not be an expert in browser quirks, JavaScript and XMLHttpRequest. GWT is used by many Google products, including Gmail, Google Maps, Google Wave and the new version of AdWords.
