merchant account which one to use?
I'm looking to start an online business. And I want to accept payments by credit cards. I would Recurring billing also. But I am a little confused with which service I should use. I am based outside the United States and 1shoppingcart dealer's website recommends that WorldPay as International Merchant Account provider. Then I went to other shopping cart software each site costs of the state they Authorize.net. What is Authorize.net anyway? Do I need to WorldPay and Authorize.net at the same time? Can someone me guidance on this subject?
This is all a bit confusing … We are talking about two different services. You need an "Internet Merchant Account" and a "payment gateway. You can get an internet merchant account from one of your local banks, or somewhere like WorldPay Many service providers payment that you have configured with a merchant account and payment gateway. BankDirect is the payment gateway of WorldPay. Authorize.net is another brand gateway payment, probably the most popular and well supported by trolleys. The merchant account is a relationship that you arrange a contract between your company and the banks / Visa said that you can accept credit cards. The payment gateway is the tool you use to process payments effectively. It is analogous to a terminal credit card. Your basket is connected to the payment gateway. Your Internet Merchant Account, and your online shopping cart will both have a selection payment gateways they support. You want to make sure they can both agree on a payment gateway.
