How is accredited University of Phoenix compared to a state college to control?
I want to return to school and get my Masters. Line would be easier due to work full time … but I am concerned that Perceptions of quality in the business world in contrast with an MA from the State University.
It is not a issue of accreditation. is a question of quality and perceived quality. University of Phoenix is accredited – but it is not selective and it is not good. They were recently fined a record $ 9.8mm for shady recruiting practices. I read that they are currently under investigation for padding their placement numbers. They accept almost everyone who applies – so that employers do not trust that their graduates know. Companies like Intel have decided not to pay their employees to take classes there because they lack rigor. In Furthermore, it is a nonprofit corporation – to not only is it not as respected as a public school – but it is much more expensive. In my opinion, you'd better get a tattoo on his forehead that says "I have a bad education." It would be equally effective and much cheaper.
