Legal or illegal?
I am writing an article for my business law class, the teacher said to write something dealing leagality. I asked my friend and he told me to write on the issue of Internet gambling. Since I'm in New York that I must keep related to NY I found many interesting points for my paper, but I still cannot get a solid answer, is betting online in New York legal or illegal? This question is about the foundation of my paper without my paper would not be a document A, thanks for any help.
The new law ("Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act) has not made it illegal to play online. It only makes it illegal for banks and other financial institutions transfer your money to these game sites. I'm no expert, but it probably will not do that much, that banks can simply transfer your funds an international payment processor, like Neteller, which can then send your money to the gambling site, the Treasury and the Government has no control over who those international companies send your money.
