online marketing interview questions
Question about the promotion and marketing my book …?

I wrote and published a book for teenagers / young adults. It is already on Amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com and other online sites. So it is at local bookstores and is doing well locally. I just had a recent television interview (on site) and had 3 signings. What I would like advice on, how can I also promote my book and leave there before the public eye. I already have a fan page on facebook. Any ideas would be appreciated. It's called Lafitte's Black Box

Nothing new but rather bad, I'm sorry to say. Self-published books on the evil eBay, Amazon, the website editor of, and its own website the. Marketing a pay-to-publish book is damned difficult. A large number of avenues for traditionally published authors do are not available. signatures chain stores rarely home or make copies (even if their orders for customers). Newspapers, magazines, television and radio do not want your press releases and will not do interviews. Often, the library system will not accept copies for free. Writing or agreements relating to the book will not let you put up a sale or an autograph table, you do not want their boards author, and prevent you from giving away promotional material. author's blog, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and other electronic self promotion efforts appear to have little effect in terms of increased sales. About the placing on the market that I saw no effect for self-published authors is active participation in forums and cats that are on topic of your book. Find your niche and determine where they find themselves online. Some sites may allow you to discuss your book * * If someone asks about it (but prohibit you from bringing more than once). Some may provide a link to a retail outlet in your profile or your blog or Web page, which in turn links to a point of sale. You'll sell a few copies more than what you might have, but overall, Like most books published, regardless of quality, total sales will likely remain below 100 copies. Most often, the number hovers around 2 / 3-3 / 4 of your total number of friends and family members. This compares very unfavorably with thousands of copies of a book moderately to sell a traditional publisher can anticipate. I am sorry for not being able to offer much hope for real promotion, but I thought you'd like the truth rather than turn your wheels or not vigorously for few results. Both Yahoo Answers and MySpace have rules prohibiting self-promotion, including books published. According to reports if someone mails, you could lose your posting privileges or account.
