I had a client recently ask me questions about social media marketing strategies and so I created this overview of some of the largest and most popular social media sites operating reviews on the web today and included on how they could work those sites in their marketing strategy. Enjoy.

Using the sites listed below is a great way to build brand awareness when your site is in its infancy. As most social media sites are free to join you they are excellent means of advertising to explore while you try to build a loyal audience visitors.

Reddit is a bit like Digg, redditi but stories tend to be more oriented news.

Squidoo lets you create a page like a blog on any topic. In this case, it's a good idea to try to create a beautiful page flyer on your website and the necessary measures. When users search for information Squidoo depending on your "lenses" about, recommend your Squidoo "lens" to their users.

If you are not familiar with Wikipedia you are probably fairly new to the Internet. Just about any keyword typed into Google these days will have a link to a Wikipedia article. This shows how powerful having an article in Wikipedia on your business can be. Just be aware that any entry will be quickly removed if it does not actually all relevant information.
When submitting an entry on your own business or website to try to write as if you are a stranger who has nothing to gain by writing to the entry. You have a better chance of not having removed your entry immediately.

Yahoo! 360

Yahoo 360 is more a place to create a page about yourself or your company like MySpace or Facebook.
MySpace
Create a community on MySpace and you can share photos, journals and interests with your growing network of mutual friends!. "
Original Name Media site, but if you're a musician, filmmaker or actor, you may have trouble reaching your target with MySpace.
Add this

Add this is not technically a social media site itself but lets call it a catalyst. If you are at risk in the world of social media marketing signature and then using the Add this "Share" button is a great place to start.
By creating an account at Add to this you will be able to download your own "Share" button (like the bottom of this page) and adding the button at the bottom each page of your site, you allow your visitors to easily share your content websites with their favorite social bookmarking site of service or media.
Using the Add this "Share" button also has the added advantage that you can connect to your add account and view statistics on when and where the content of your website has been shared by the use of your "Share" button.
