Using "social media" to raise the profile of an organization? how?
I have a job interview the week next to a college, and the need to prepare a presentation. (Ten minutes). Marketing / PR Agent. The task is to explain how "I would like to use social media to raise the profile of the college, and attract / recruit new students." I do not know tons about the media social …. Maybe there is someone in the United Kingdom or elsewhere who can give me a heads up on this or marketing. Thank you.
You do not only set up accounts, MySpace and Face Book, but also a Twitter account where you can send immediate information to current or new students. You'll able to tweet your registration "Call to Action" page via Bit.Ly. using a Bit.Ly will help you track the number of clicks and re-tweets if you register for an account with them. Friend Finder is a bit like Twitter. You should also use LinkedIn and create a group of alumni and also a group of recruitment and link the two together for your old and perspectives can cross-connect. E-mail is also a good thing, but could too much time and can appear to be "spam." Ask also some companies on Twitter (click on the link in the bio) and see how they use social media to their businesses.
