Are you allowed to put AdSense on sites of lyrical music? Is it illegal to have a site for music lyrics?

Hello, I have two questions about music lyric sites. 1. Are you allowed to put Google AdSense on the sites of music lyrics? Will they be considered as excessive / subdomain with duplicate content because there are many lyric sites? 2. Is it even legal to have a lyrical music sites?
